Hi Ben, welcome to the group, if that is Yorkshire tea that you can stand a spoon up in I could be your first customer.

We are currently still deployed at the PPE hub near Portsmouth, although it is quite quiet at the moment compared to when it first started. However it is a good opportunity to give our new members a chance to use Responder Manager  and Zello in favourable conditions (no snow or pressure).  So you never know we may be able to give you some practice.

            Hi Ben,

Welcome to the team.  There should be a thread here and in the Facebook group to sort out your DBS check if Derek hasn’t pointed you in that direction. I’ll sort your Zello account out in the morning.

if you need anything just shout.

            Regards

Mike Sutton (HR236) Vice Chairman & Trustee

If you log into Responder Manager, on the main page there is a tab near the bottom called “My status” tap on it.

When the next page opens tap on “New schedule”, on the next page check the month and year are correct for your entry.

On this page you can enter a block of dates, or an individual date, you can’t enter several individual dates in one go. If you enter a block of days i.e. Mon-Fri and you later try and edit one day i.e. Wednesday the entire block will be affected. Make sure you tick the relevant a.m.  p.m. night boxes or nothing will be saved.

When you have completed an entry tap on the save button just below the calendar.

The request email generally comes through at 16.45, the Controller then looks at where the deliveries are located, which Responders are available and the most suitable for the function. A call is made early evening to see if the most appropriate Responder is still available and willing to carry out the delivery.

We don’t know what is required until the email arrives, and sometimes several calls are required as the Responder called has had something come up.
